Privacy Policy for Activity for ClickUp
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Activity for ClickUp is a Chrome extension that shows your ClickUp Inbox and Chat activity in a side panel. This policy explains what the extension does with your data.
Your ClickUp data stays in your browser
The extension reads your ClickUp Inbox and Chat as ClickUp shows them in your open ClickUp tabs. Notifications, task names, comments, Docs, chat messages and read/unread state stay in your browser. The extension never sends them anywhere. It works only with ClickUp through your normal ClickUp session and never uses your ClickUp cookies or login details.
The only other network calls: license checks
Apart from ClickUp itself, the extension contacts only Polar (polar.sh), to check your license. Each check sends:
- your license key;
- the seller's Polar organization ID;
- the activation ID that Polar assigned to this computer, and the label "Chrome" when you first activate the key.
The extension checks the license at most about once a day, and when you enter or remove a key. It sends no ClickUp data, browsing data or device information. Polar's reply includes the email address on the license; the extension doesn't store or show it.
Payments
Polar is the merchant of record. When you start a trial or subscribe, you do it on Polar's checkout page, and Polar handles your email address, payment details, invoices and taxes. Polar's privacy policy applies to that information: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy-policy
What the extension stores on your computer
In Chrome's extension storage, on this computer only:
- Pinned items: kept until you unpin them.
- Opened items (History) and the latest Inbox and Chat snapshot: cleared when Chrome closes.
- Your license key and the result of its last check: kept until you choose Help & feedback → Remove from this computer, or uninstall the extension.
Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
No tracking
The extension has no analytics, telemetry, advertising or remote logging. It doesn't sell or share data with anyone. It doesn't load or run remote code.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data use changes, this policy will be updated before the new version is published, and the date above will change.
